HISTORY OF THE BRANDOIS

FROM 1869 TO TODAY…

The origin of the estate dates back to 1869 when the Baron de Brandois entrusted the construction of the Forest Castle in a neo-Gothic style to an architect.

In 1921, the place was transformed and became a school of agriculture created by the Institution of the Brothers of Saint Gabriel.

It was in 2006 that the new owners created Le Domaine de Brandois, a hotel-restaurant combining business and leisure. A few years later, the property received a 4-star rating for 26 of its rooms.

The Estate will then be enriched, hosting family and professional events in the new Amazons room, a reception room dedicated to weddings, birthdays, seminars, conferences, etc.

In 2021, Le Domaine de Brandois was bought by two partners who set up a new operation. The Hotel-Restaurant is replaced by a new personalized rental formula of the different parts of the Domain with a tailor-made service for all your events (wedding, anniversary, seminar, reception, meeting, cocktail, etc.).

In 2023, opening of the restaurant “La Cantine” within the walls of the castle. Establishment open for lunch, Monday to Friday.

1869

It was in 1869 that Jean FOUCHER, Baron DE BRANDOIS, entrusted to the architect Paul GUILLEROT the construction of the Château de La Forêt, in a neo-gothic style. The Castle will house the second marriage of Baron DE BRANDOIS with Mademoiselle Victorine DE MALET.

1921

The entire estate was bequeathed by the second owner, in 1921, to the Institution of the Brothers of Saint Gabriel who created the school of agriculture, under the direction of Brother Henri BUTON. The school’s reputation extends beyond the boundaries of the department and the region. It will operate here until 1966. Beyond the teaching itself, the place acquires an important reputation through the expertise of the Brothers (shaping the vineyard, growing fruits and vegetables, creating a weather station, etc.).

1968

In 1968, the Domaine was acquired by the Centre de promotion sociale, which established an establishment (in association with the Maisons Familiales Rurales) devoted to general and vocational training for adults. (technicians and senior technicians in agriculture, industry, tertiary trades, etc.).

2006

The new owners create the DOMAINE DE BRANDOIS, a hotel-restaurant that opens its doors on May 24, 2006, combining business and leisure. A few years later, the Domaine de Brandois won a new hotel classification and now offers 26 rooms (Chateau and Priory) open all year-round and 12 rooms in Le Verger du Domaine.

2014

The offer is enriched with a new activity thanks to the development of a new space of 220m2, the large room of the Amazons, for your receptions, weddings, conferences…

2021
